A Great Blue Heron photographed in Seaside, Oregon on October 2, 2011. This large (39-52 inches)
bird is frequently seen near and along rivers and ponds, watching for small fish and frogs, which are
its principal foods. This particular bird was seen across the Necanicum River from a public wayside,
catching small fish (with the patience of Job) for over 90 minutes.
